Brooke Shekter—Managing Partner

Brooke Shekter, Managing Partner of LS Health Law, practices exclusively in the health law field and is a dedicated advocate for regulated health professionals, combining rigorous preparation with a passion for procedural fairness.

Since her call to the bar in 2018, Brooke has represented many health professionals including doctors, nurses, optometrists, pharmacists, and psychologists, to name a few. She is passionate about representing regulated health professionals when they face College complaints or investigations, discipline hearings, Medical Advisory Committees and hospital boards, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, or judicial review.

Brooke has been vocal about critical issues affecting Ontario’s healthcare system, and particularly about procedural fairness, or lack thereof, for doctors faced with issues involving hospital leadership and administration. She writes a regular column for the Medical Post called “The Doctor’s Lawyer” on issues that affect physicians and surgeons.

As a result of some of her published articles and cases receiving wide circulation, she has been retained by medical departments and divisions of public hospitals who have been engaged in fights with their hospital’s administration.

Brooke’s practice focuses on protecting the rights of regulated health professionals. She is recognized for her clear communication, attention to detail, and client-centered approach, ensuring her clients are well-supported throughout complex legal processes.
